Request for Goethe Autographs |

THE
MOMMSEN FOUNDATION
is
a private not-for-profit Family Foundation founded in 2000
in Palo Alto, California,
a scholarly philanthropic organization for the advancement of World
Literature.
The Foundation
was expressly formed to support organizations that
are organized and operated exclusively for scholarly and educational
purposes and that are exempt from taxation under section 501 C (3)
of the Internal Revenue Code.
Currently,
the focus is on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832). The Foundation's
scholarly Program is firmly based on the belief that Goethe has
much to give to the World even today.
The
Foundation will support the advancement of Goethe Research
by means of making contributions to:

Stiftung Weimarer Klassik,
Weimar, Germany,
an organization that is exempt under section 501 C (3) of the Internal
Revenue Code.
More specifically,
the Foundation is funding the completion of ten or more volumes
of a documentation: Die Entstehung von
Goethes Werken in Dokumenten, documenting the genesis of ca.
1,600 works of Goethe. |
And/Or |

other Organizations that are exempt from Taxation under section
501 C (3) of the Internal Revenue Code for the purpose of funding the
acquisition of Goethe Autographs
and other valuable Manuscripts by
Literary Archives and Libraries, the
Restoration of Literary Manuscripts and Translation, Analysis and
Documentation of World Literature. |
Any qualified Organization interested in pursuing such purposes
can submit a written proposal to the Foundation for Consideration.
